CARE & MAINTENANCE
Your Garden Edging Direct weathered steel edging is designed to be durable and naturally weather-resistant. A little care will keep it looking its best for years.
Cleaning
Use mild detergent and water to remove dirt and debris.
Wipe with a soft, non-abrasive cloth or sponge in gentle circular motions.
Rinse thoroughly to remove any soap residue.
What to Avoid
Abrasive cleaners or chemicals (e.g., bleach or strong detergents).
Steel wool, wire brushes, or harsh scrubbing.
Excessive force that may scratch the surface.
Maintenance Tips
Remove leaves, mulch, or soil that stay in contact with the edging.
Inspect annually for surface scratches or debris build up.
Small scratches naturally blend into the weathered patina over time.
Cleaning Frequency
Most gardens: every 6–12 months.
Wet, coastal, or heavily irrigated areas: every 3–6 months.
Tip: The natural rusted finish (patina) is protective, it’s part of the steel’s durability. Avoid sealants unless specified by Garden Edging Direct.
